Configure ActiveSync

How you connect your mobile device to the Vanderbilt enterprise messaging system (Vmail) depends on the type of device that you have. Below are instructions for the three major operating systems of mobile devices

*Note: The configuration steps vary by the version of Android that you are using.

  1. On your device, go to Menu > Settings .
  2. At the bottom of the Settings screen, tap Accounts and sync .
  3. At the bottom of the Accounts and sync screen, tap Add account
  4. On the Add account screen, tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
  5. On the setup screens, enter the information below. Tap Next to move to the next screen.

Enter Vanderbilt   as the domain followed by a "\" and your vunetid

Select   "Accept"

Varies

Select the sync   options that you prefer. The recommended selections are

Period to Sync: 3   Days

Sync Schedule:   Push

Period to sync   Calendar: 2 Weeks

Windows 

To set up Exchange ActiveSync on your Windows device:

  1. Choose   Add an Account.
  2. Select  Exchange.
  3. Follow the prompts and enter information requested. See the table below for examples.

If the account settings are found, wait for your Exchange email, calendar, and contacts to be synced to your phone. You're all done setting up your account. 

 

If the account settings are not found, review the settings for your email address and password, type "Vanderbilt" in the "Domain" field, and try to sign in again.
