Voice Training

To meet the demands of our customers' evolving business environments, VUIT has developed a series of telephony education classes that can be customized to fit your system and personnel requirements. Training may be requested by calling VUIT Support at (615) 343-9999. User Guides are available for all university provided telecommunications equipment by calling VUIT Support at (615) 343-9999. On-Line User Guides are available for Voicemail and Single Line phones.

Basic Telephone User Training

Course Description
Teaches employees how to efficiently and effectively use the University and Medical Center phone system.

Through hands-on training and instruction, the user will learn how to:

  • place internal and external calls
  • program phone
  • use and maintain autodial and speed dial functions
  • take advantage of LCD and "hot" buttons
  • utilize features such as park, page, pick up, call forward, call duration, etc.

Basic Voicemail User Training

Course Description
Teaches students how to efficiently and effectively use and operate University and Medical Center voicemail system.

Through hands-on training and instruction, the user will learn how to:

  • set up and access voicemail
  • retrieve messages internally and externally
  • send & receive messages, including listening and recording features
  • set up delivery options and special system features, including time & date stamp
  • transfer callers to voicemail & specific boxes
  • navigate into voicemail boxes

Basic Telephone and Voicemail Training

Course Description
Basic telephone user training and basic voicemail user training can be combined into one class. For details, see individual classes.

Basic ACD Training

Course Description
Introduces the features and benefits of the University and Medical Center Automatic Call Distribution system. The course also includes basic telephone user training. ACD Training is mandatory for all departments implementing a new ACD application.

Through hands-on training and instruction, the user will learn how to:

  • route and track calls
  • log in and out of ACD queue
  • handle calls via ACD
  • place internal and external calls
  • use handset features
