Golden Threads align organization with VU's strategic objectives

Boardroom

As the VUIT division moved forward into 2015, Strategy and Planning worked to align efforts and services with three core strategic themes, termed “Golden Threads.” These Golden Threads aligned with the Chancellor’s strategic objectives for our organization. The threads included: Trans-Institutional Collaboration, Operational Excellence, and Right Placing our Technology.

  • Trans-Institutional Collaboration will allow VUIT to provide services and solutions that facilitate cross-functional initiatives across the Vanderbilt community.  This will include a clear, rational, and managed application portfolio, standardized desktop management, and pervasive wireless networks.
  • Operational Excellence will position VUIT to meet customer expectations by unifying service management procedures, strengthening security posture, and further developing and operationalizing governance models.
  • Right Placing Technology means making the right choices about data center strategies and standardized server platforms, selecting the right support model for the schools, and developing a products and services catalog to publicize the benefits and cost of services.
