VUIT assists student researcher set up digital privacy exhibit at the Wond’ry

In fall 2017, VUIT’s Vanderbilt Managed Desktop Program, Network Design and Engineering, Network Security, and Distributed Technology Services’ School of Engineering team collaborated with a visiting student researcher to create a new exhibit at the Wond’ry that explores and informs an understanding of digital privacy. This exhibit exposed the vulnerability of unencrypted web traffic (which includes any page without “https”) on an open wireless network, highlighting the importance of encryption.
