Brightspace is Vanderbilt’s new course management system

The Center for Teaching adopted the new Brightspace course management system to replace Blackboard in spring 2017. The new platform has a modern, responsive design and a number of features that faculty members and students will find useful, including drag-and-drop file management, a mobile-friendly interface, a virtual classroom, and a student portfolio tool.

In addition to having access to older courses back until summer 2014, faculty members will see their summer and fall 2017 courses that are ready for development upon logging in to Brightspace. Course migration from Blackboard is ongoing. If faculty members require access to an older course, they can contact the Center for Teaching for support.

This project was a collaborative effort among the Center for Teaching, Academic Affairs Process and Solution Implementations (AAPSI), and VUIT.
