University Directory Services project team executes vendor contract for 2018 implementation

During the end of 2017, the Transition Management Office and the VU Directory Services team met with several vendors to choose a partner who could best help facilitate the implementation of a university-only directory services. After thoughtful deliberations, the team selected United Data Technologies (UDT) and executed a contract for the engagement. VUIT’s partnership with UDT began with a kick-off in January and migration is underway in preparation for the larger implementation, which will continue throughout the year.

This project is part of the ongoing reorganization of the university and the Medical Center. Today, both organizations share legacy directory services. Once this implementation is complete, university-only services will take the place of the existing infrastructure. These new directory services will provide a single point of access to resources, including users, devices, applications, printers, telephone numbers and other objects, distributed throughout the Vanderbilt network.
