Network Security enables new services to further protect against identity theft, viruses

The Network Security team has enabled Data Leak Prevention (DLP) and a new anti-virus service on enterprise control points to heighten protections for the Vanderbilt community users.

The DLP will alert appropriate personnel to any unsecured, non-encrypted social security and credit card numbers data found traversing the Vanderbilt organization. Once the security team receives such an alert, team members will take action to protect users from identity theft.

The anti-virus service will detect and block viruses, spyware phone home, spyware download, botnet, worms, and Trojans detected in the Vanderbilt environment.
