Vanderbilt University Information Technology Wiring Standard

The purpose of the Wiring Standard is to design and build flexible, reliable, cost-effective intrabuilding communications wiring, equipment and pathways. Vanderbilt University Medical Center Space and Facilities, Vanderbilt University Campus Planning, Plant Operations and Plant Services departments use this document as a guideline for information technology infrastructure related to new construction and building renovation projects.

The goal is to decrease total cost of ownership by minimizing the need for renovation as use of space changes over time and reducing unneeded variability and the associated support costs. These guidelines are based on industry standards and are reviewed frequently and updated accordingly.
