Guaranteed Hardware Lifecycling (GHL)
Guaranteed Hardware Lifecycling (GHL) allows a department to purchase a computer over 3 years rather than all at one time thereby allowing many departments to lifecycle more computers at any given time.
GHL is not a lease but a purchase plan with 0% interest which enables our customers to purchase a computer over three years. At the end of three years, departments are encouraged to replace their hardware. For a list of our current GHL Hardware Models, please see the GHL Cost Worksheet posted at the bottom of this page.
Terms & Conditions
- Hardware selections are based upon a minimum set of criteria that is compatible with administrative and clinical requirements.
- A guaranteed three-year warranty and lifecycle is provided.
- The customer is responsible for contacting the Vanderbilt IT Help Desk for computer repairs.
- A separate service is available for shared network storage. This service is recommended for backing up local data to a network drive.
- GHL computers are kept in compliance with VUMC Patch Management policies.
- Warranty repair on the computer will be provided for normal wear and tear.
- Costs not covered under warranty will be the responsibility of the customer.
- The customer is responsible for the value of the computer if it is lost or stolen.
- Billing is completed on a monthly basis and all costs are billed to the cost center provided on our cost worksheet to account number 81000 for a term of 36 months.
- Guaranteed Hardware Lifecycling costs cover the purchase of the system only
- If the customer terminates this agreement at any time, the customer is responsible for the remaining value of the system
- Apple trade-in devices are subject to technical review prior to establishing actual value
