About

In Spring 2016, Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center became separate financial and legal entities.  Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT) previously served as the comprehensive, in-house information technology service provider for both the university and the Medical Center. In order to better support each institution's unique missions, VUIT continues to support the university and VUMC IT now supports the Medical Center.

VUIT offers a wide range of products and services, including infrastructure, network, data center, security, and authentication services, along with voice, data, computing and conferencing services. In addition, VUIT is responsible for applications supporting students, researchers, faculty, and staff, such as the online course registration system, course management system, HR, and financial systems, along with email and other collaboration systems. Within the past two years, the organization has been leading a gradual remix of the systems portfolio for primarily in-house and on-premise to market-based systems via cloud and other off-premise architecture.
