Communicating with IT during a disaster
During a disaster
VUIT will utilize customary communication methods to communicate with the Vanderbilt Community as long as the disaster does not impact IT operations and the IT Service Desk. During an event that disables IT operations, VUIT will utilize alternate communication methods available through the Vanderbilt University Emergency Preparedness Group. Depending on the severity of such events, these methods include one or more of the following:
- Alerts posted to the VUIT web page
- Direct communication through email
- Special greetings at the IT Service Desk phone number
- AlertVU
IT Operations:
- IT Help Desk (615) 343-9999; hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
